Brakas are monkey-like Rahi once found in Le-Metru and Ga-Metru and formerly lived in Le-Wahi. Brakas aren't especially dangerous, though they can work themselves up into a frenzy and become a mild threat to Matoran. They make a distinctive "kau kau" noise, which inspired the name of the Kau Kau Staff.

Some Brakas live on the Southern Continent.

On Metru Nui, Brakas were such pests, that Matoran asked Turaga Dume to have them banned. Dume, complying, had Vahki capture all the specimens and put them in the Archives, from which they later escaped.
