Parent Page: Events
Battles and Conflicts are events that occur sporadically in the Matoran Universe, and are on a much smaller scale than Wars. Battles given articles are typically on a large scale and/or have larger impacts than minuscule skirmishes that occasionally occur.
[carve] Typical Battles
These battles and conflicts normally occur when two or more factions have conflicting goals and both attempt to achieve them, causing a fight. These battles usually end either when one faction eventually overpowers the others, or a third party steps in to end it. Either way, these conflicts usually involve casualties.
[carve] Structure Of a Major Battle
The structure of a major battle usually consists of a battle between two or more sides, that lasts a while, or has significance enough that it is important to the storyline.
An example of this would be the battle between the Toa Metru and Teridax, compared to the battle of Trinuma, Botar, and Icarax. While the latter battle is important, in the terms of the outcome, it is too short to be considered a major battle; the skirmish between Teridax and the Toa Metru is longer and leads to even more important events because of its outcome.
