The BIONICLE Planet is where the BIONICLE storyline, after the Great Cataclysm, takes place.

Approximately 1,000 years ago, the Great Spirit Mata Nui was passing by this planet on his way to an unknown destination, spending time to observe it in the process, when he was cast into sleep by the Brotherhood of Makuta, making him fall down from space. Mata Nui's impact from hitting the planet caused the Great Cataclysm. This also triggered his camouflage system and damaged the Energized Protodermis system, causing the creation of the island later named after him. The cataclysm also caused the island of Voya Nui to burst out of Mata Nui, which landed in the Endless Ocean.
Mata Nui stayed on the planet, comatose for around 1,000 years, during which Voya Nui was sent back to the Southern Continent by the Toa Mahri.
Soon after, the Great Spirit (Teridax in Mata Nui's body) was awakened and stood up, causing the destruction of the island of Mata Nui.

The surface of the BIONICLE Planet is completely covered by the Endless Ocean and currently contains no landmasses. Two islands formerly existed on the surface: Mata Nui and Voya Nui.
The Red Star and a moon are in orbit around this planet, and Lehvak-Kal and a small army of Tahnok are currently in a low orbit around it.
