Biography
Before joining the Dark Hunters, Amphibax wandered the seas, serving in Ehlek's army before the Barraki were banished to the Pit. He lost a hand while attempting to search for Ehlek after he was banished.
Amphibax's missions usually included attacks on ships of the Brotherhood of Makuta or raids on islands inhabited by Matoran. His last known mission was to monitor the Piraka from the seas around Voya Nui. He had no idea about the Barraki and Mahri Nui below the island, for he was not concerned with underwater, just the surface. After Voya Nui's return to the Southern Continent, Amphibax returned to Odina, where he awaited his next assignment.
When Teridax took over the universe, he sent Rahkshi which overcame and seized Odina. However, by this time, Amphibax and the other Dark Hunters had already relocated to Xia.
After the Great Spirit Robot suffered crippling damage in the Battle of Bara Magna, Amphibax and other surviving inhabitants of the Matoran Universe migrated to Spherus Magna.
Abilities and Traits
Amphibax is known for having the ruthlessness of a Takea Shark and the mind of a thief. He is the Shadowed One's first pick in underwater related operations.
Amphibax is a strong swimmer beneath the seas and is able to survive at great depths for long periods of time. On land, he is adept at climbing trees and is a swift sprinter. He also has enhanced hearing and eyesight.

Amphibax has a spined whip in place of one of his hands and sharp claws on the other.
Trivia
- Amphibax was created by Willy Reese, sent into the LEGO Magazine Dark Hunter Building Contest, and was given a storyline role by Greg Farshtey and put into the book BIONICLE: Dark Hunters.
- Unlike most Dark Hunters in the Dark Hunter guide, Amphibax is not a code name, but is this character's real name.
