Akida, the Creature of Water, is one of the seven Elemental Creatures and has the form of a shark.[RotSS]

Biography

The formation of the island of Okoto also spawned six powerful creatures intrinsically tied to the elements, including Akida the Creature of Water. Unfortunately, the shadows of Okoto gave birth to Umarak and his Shadow Traps, intended to capture Akida and its fellow Creatures.

As depicted in ancient carvings near and beneath the City of the Mask Makers, Akida and its fellows were known to the Islanders of Okoto before the Mask Makers were born.[RotSS]

During one Festival of Masks, Akida and its fellows made themselves known to Ekimu, who soon called upon the Protectors of the time to journey with him to seek a vision via the Mask of Time. Akida then granted Owaki, the ancient Protector of Water, an Elemental Crystal for empowering one of the Golden Masks of Power.

Akida and its fellow creatures hid the Mask of Control within the Labyrinth of Control after it was lost by Makuta.

After Ekimu was awakened and the city reclaimed from the Skull Creatures, the Toa set out to find the Elemental Creatures. Gali soon found Akida, who led her to the temple where her Golden Mask of Unity awaited her. After donning it, Akida and Gali merged together for the first time, and in this form they met up with three of the other Toa and their creatures outside the city. After being joined by the remainder, the Toa revealed that the Creatures had shared with them knowledge of the Labyrinth of Control, which they sought out the next day. After arriving on its island by combining their powers once again, Akida and its fellow creatures allowed the Toa to take the lead before merging with them to enter the chamber where the Mask of Control lay hidden. However, their ancient enemy Umarak kidnapped Ketar and used his power to access the chamber, stealing the mask before escaping. The Toa and the creatures then departed for home, determined to defend Okoto despite their failure.

Returning to the City of the Mask Makers, Akida and its fellows joined the Toa in battling the evil Shadow Horde. Akida and the other Creatures were then left to fight alongside the Okotans without the Toa, who left to battle Umarak and succeeded in preventing the return of Makuta.
