"This was one of Makuta's lairs. This was where he calculated when the suns would go dark and planned his crime against the Matoran. No wonder my Hordika side is raging inside me. It senses the evil that was done here."

Teridax's Po-Metru Lair was a secret base of Makuta Teridax located in Po-Metru on the island of Metru Nui.

History

Makuta Teridax constructed this lair in Po-Metru sometime before the creation of the Toa Metru.

At this lair, Teridax planned parts of his grand scheme, including impersonating Turaga Dume and convincing Toa Mangai Lhikan to select the Matoran Vakama, Nokama, Matau, Onewa, Whenua and Nuju to become the Toa Metru.

After the Visorak occupied the city, Krahka was enlisted by Roodaka to crush the morale of the Toa, and left this place open to Toa Hordika Onewa's discovery, as he later discovered in the lair a tablet detailing the part of the Makuta's plan related to the Toa Metru. Pouks caught her fleeing in the form of a Stone Snake, and told her how the Visorak had killed the rest of her species, proposing an alliance with her.

After the Visorak had left the city, and the Matoran were rescued, Vakama returned to Metru Nui to retrieve the Kanohi Vahi, but was trapped in an illusion by Teridax where he and his fellow Toa Metru had remained Matoran. As his suspicion in the false duplicate of Metru Nui grew, Vakama traveled to Po-Metru with an illusion of Nokama. Upon reaching the wall which concealed this chamber, Vakama felt around for any unnatural parts of the rock, finally finding a recessed portion which when pressed opened the lair.

Before Vakama could react, a bizarre creature darted from inside and leapt upon his mask. The creature placed Vakama into a vision of Toa Krakua which lasted until the figure of Turaga Lhikan removed the mysterious life-form from his mask. Vakama finally gained confidence that this reality was a facade, and thrust a Kanoka from a nearby table at the illusory Nokama, thus ending the illusion.

Outside, Sentrakh and the Shadowed One arrived, and collapsed the mouth of the cavern. The false Turaga Lhikan revealed himself to be Teridax, and, forging a temporary alliance with Vakama, led him from the cavern through an alternate tunnel, which let out behind a stone slab fastened with a metal ring. Vakama used his Fire powers to reduce the slab to molten Protodermis, and the two exited the cave.

The lair was severely damaged, along with the rest of the city, when a fragment of Aqua Magna struck Metru Nui. Later, Teridax's Po-Metru Lair, along with all other locations in the Matoran Universe, was dismantled.[1][2]

Interior

This chamber was concealed deep within a Po-Metru cavern behind a false rock wall, which was able to open via a secret switch. The wall hiding it was destroyed during the Visorak occupation, and the mouth of the cavern was collapsed shortly afterward.

The interior walls were inscribed with writings in a language with which Vakama was unfamiliar. Against the walls on both sides were tables covered in various artifacts including Kanoka and broken tablets.
