Weakness?

I wanted to discuss the possibility that the Rode has a weakness. Examine the following passage:

"[Axonn] looked Takanuva over for a minute, then nodded. 'He's not a shapeshifter. And he really does think he's Takanuva.'
"Thanks, Axonn,' said Macku. 'So he's crazy then?'
"Not sure,' said Axonn.

This implies that the Rode can't detect lies if the person who's speaking believes they're telling the truth. Thoughts? Is it something we should bring up on the page? External Image Speak to Me 03:55, 12 December 2014 (CET)

Feel free to add something about it if you want.
Makes you wonder what would happen if detecting someone influenced by the Mask of Charisma... -- Dorek Talk External Image 04:35, 12 December 2014 (CET)
Something like in Avatar, I guess. --Boidoh (talk) 20:05, 12 December 2014 (CET)
I think this is kind of an assumed given. Just like the Mask of Mind reading would not detect such a thing, the Rode wouldn't either, cause the person isn't thinking, "They think I'm telling the truth but I'm really lying," they are thinking, "This is actually what I believe to be true," so somebody under the influence of the Mask of Charisma who says something contrary to their normal beliefs, would not be detected by the Rode. --Harsulin's Ghost (talk) 20:07, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

Trivia

So @Dorek, as for that change I made on the trivia, I don't know about it being a prototype or not, but that is not what I said. It wasn't a typo because it was spelled this way in the ignition comics, lego magazine, catalogs, and bionicle heroes. A mistake maybe, but not a typo, so if I were to change the trivia, what would you want me to say? --Harsulin's Ghost (talk) 01:31, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

I don't really see the difference between a "typo" and a "mistake"? We would definitely need a source for it to be considered a prototype name or if there was a reason why it was changed, but just saying that some sources spell it incorrectly seems sufficient to me. -- Dorek Talk External Image 05:03, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
The changes you made @Surel-Nuva work for me, I was just wondering how we defined this, since as I see it, a typo is a spelling mistake, but the fact that the mask was consistently spelled this way in almost every source available at the time of release suggests that it was fully intentional by whoever wrote it. So it seemed that either the name was changed later, or lego mistakenly used a name that was not yet official.--Harsulin's Ghost (talk) 16:22, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
