Talk:Lord of Skull Spiders

From BIONICLEsector01

So MU has Rahi, SM has Creatures, which were at one point co-opted into "Fauna" although that was dumb. Should we use "Fauna" for Gen2 animals? -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 01:52, 11 October 2014 (CEST)

'The Lord of Skull Spiders is a villainous fauna who guards the entrance to the hidden city on Okoto and leads the Skull Spiders.' Doesn't sound much better to me. I say we stay away from labeling this guy and the other spiders/animals/beasts until we see an official description and see what they use. (Probably nothing specific, but who knows.) If we get backed into a corner, my vote is 'beast.' --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 02:06, 11 October 2014 (CEST)
I didn't mean deliberately replace any instance of "creature" with "fauna" just as a categorizing system =P. Beasts is fine with me too, it's what I used for Hero Factory. -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 02:30, 11 October 2014 (CEST)

Template

I'd think this page needs a template with a "Mask" line, under which the Golden Mask of the Skull Spiders could be listed, and, if at all possible, some sort of Skull Spider infoLight symbol. Does that sound doable? --Angel Bob (talk) 03:08, 4 December 2014 (CET)

It's doable, but I'm not entirely convinced that it's not a unique circumstance; is he the Lord of Skull Spiders because he can use the mask? Or was he already the LOSS and this mask enhances his power? I'd like to wait until we see how Masks function in the universe. -- Dorek Talk External Image 04:20, 4 December 2014 (CET)

Archives... again

See... Now BIONICLE.com has changed and there is that extra reference... Archives anyone? --Boidoh (talk) 21:53, 15 December 2014 (CET)

Like I said before, thanks for volunteering :U
Maybe we could use the archived versions to condense the citations, too? Since we're technically still citing the same page, just at a different point in time... -- Dorek Talk External Image 00:11, 16 December 2014 (CET)

Multiple LOSS's

I heard recently there may be more than one Lord of Skull Spiders. Has it been confirmed that there's only the one?--Willess12 (talk) 21:41, 16 December 2014 (CET)

There seems to be multiple... I get that from the character videos. --Boidoh (talk) 21:43, 16 December 2014 (CET)
There might be... We don't know the exact sequence of events played out in the character videos. They're implied to be concurrent, which would mean the LOSS is not a singular spider, but they could be sequential and the LOSS just got around fast. The character bio, conversely, could be read as to imply there's one.
I'm totally leaning towards multiple, but I don't think there's enough substantial evidence from the animations yet to say. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)

When we first saw screenshots of all the different Toa fighting the LOSS, I actually leapt to the assumption that there were multiple such beings. However, everything else -- the bio, the product description, even the name itself -- seems to imply it's a singular entity. (I guess we could always ask that question on LEGO's 2015 forum, but I don't know if anyone official reads those...) --Angel Bob (talk) 22:16, 16 December 2014 (CET)

Maybe it has illusions of itself to guard the Golden Masks? --Collector1100 (talk) 22:27, 16 December 2014 (CET)
We've seen multiple interpretations of the Toa retrieving their Golden Masks at this point, so I wouldn't say that those are reflective of the actual canon events at this point. It might be, but we'll see; I think it'd be interesting, but also weird. -- Dorek Talk External Image 05:44, 17 December 2014 (CET)
I say multiple for sure. Unless LoSS has some adaptive armour or something, notice how its armour looks different sometimes. Also, in the Lord of Skull Spiders Box Comic, he is WHITE. --Boidoh (talk) 15:12, 17 December 2014 (CET)

LoSS Box Comic

Dorek, there isn't exactly a nice , neat picture of it, but in the BZP review of LOSS, Black 6 (I think it was) showed the box comic. --Boidoh (talk) 15:16, 24 December 2014 (CET)

I know it HAS a comic, I was just wondering if it existed anywhere in usable format (yeah, video reviews aren't the greatest for that). Ah well. Also should probably get a mention on the comics page. -- Dorek Talk External Image 17:30, 24 December 2014 (CET)

LoSS and what he actually does

1. LoSS was never searching for the mask of creation as it was on the bridge where he was guarding the city. he was attacking villages looking for the protectors so that he could find the golden masks of power

2. in the cannon storyline Loss never uses or even has possession of the golden mask of skull spiders. he simply controlls the skull spiders through his own telepathic link (The preceding unsigned comment was made by Toa straya)

  1. Probably right; I suppose the argument could be made that he acts more independently of the other Skull Creatures, but the timeline fits.
  2. Just because we don't see him use it doesn't mean he didn't use it in the past to forge the link in the first place. The whole point of the description was that it never really needs to be seen again, but they want to acknowledge its existence anyway. There's going to be a lot of G2 things like that, so it's probably best to roll with the punches rather than taking the hardline G1 mentality. -- Dorek Talk External Image 02:04, 25 January 2016 (CET)

How many eyes does the LOSS have?

Hi, guys. Two things: 1. There is most likely one LOSS, according to the webisodes, "Gathering of the Toa" in 2015, and the G2 chapter books. 2. Does LOSS have six or four eyes? In the set, his face has six red eyes, two large ones on the top, two smaller ones in the bottom, and two even smaller ones in the middle. Even "Gathering of the Toa" showed that many eyes. In other media, LOSS has four eyes. Which is it?

If the set has six eyes, then he has six eyes, I'd say. ~ Wolk (talk) 03:13, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
