The Power Lies Beneath!
When the Toa are exposed to the strange energies of protodermis, they are transformed into the mighty Toa Nuva! With new powers, new armor, and new tools, the Toa Nuva are fully prepared for any threat to their island home. But will the power of the Toa Nuva save Mata Nui... or shatter it forever?

The chilling power of ice and snow!
Cold, cunning Kopaka Nuva dwells in the snowy wastes of Mount Ihu, and is perhaps the most mysterious of all the Toa Nuva. His ice blade can be attached to his feet to form skates for extra speed on the ice and snow. Turn the wheel on his back to move his arms!

Set Information

The set packaging for 8571

The Kopaka Nuva set was released in September 2002 as one of the six Toa Nuva sets. The set consists of 43 pieces.

A promotional comic was included with at least some copies of the set.

By combining pieces from Kopaka Nuva with 8567 Lewa Nuva and 8570 Gali Nuva, one can build Wairuha Nuva using instructions provided at the end of the manuals for the three sets.

The set was included in the collection set K8572 Toa Nuva Collection.

Features

Turning a gear in Kopaka Nuva's back causes him to swing his Ice Blade up and down. His Ice Blade can also be split in two and attached to his feet to serve as ice skates. The set could be configured with both arms connected to the gear system, or with one arm being able to be rotated freely using an axle-pin. In the latter case, a left-over 3-length axle and small gear could be used to lock the gear function.

A third, additional axle half-bushing piece, a fourth 12-tooth gear, and a single light gray axle connector (part 32039) were included in the set's piece count,[1][3] though none of these parts are it is not required for any official configuration or combiner model and are not shown in the instructions.

The set's canister was not given storyline role. Much like those of the Toa Mata sets, the canister lid could be used for displaying masks.

Collectibles

Kopaka Nuva wears a white Akaku Nuva.
