The BIONICLE: Encyclopedia is an encyclopedia written by Greg Farshtey containing information of the storyline up to the point of 2005. This encyclopedia was later followed up by a sequel in 2007.
Content
The book's articles are in alphabetical order, with information about all the characters, Rahi, locations, Mata Nui and Metru Nui (before the Great Cataclysm), and the like. Articles for major characters are subdivided, and a few inserts on Matoran society are included.
The book also sports its own short story, explaining how Toa Nidhiki went from a Toa Mangai to a Dark Hunter titled Birth of a Dark Hunter, also written by Greg Farshtey. The end of the encyclopedia also features a sticker page, with stickers of the Toa Mata and Turaga of Mata Nui, along with the Toa Metru and their later Toa Hordika forms.
The book is dedicated to all fans of BIONICLE, and two very well known members of the BZPower forums and BIONICLEsector01: former Staff member Pekel and BS01's founder, Crystal Matrix.

Trivia
- The book contains several minor graphics errors. For example, in the Kakama and Kakama Nuva entries, the image shown is actually a brown Miru Nuva.
- Vorahk is erroneously absent from the book. As a result, Vorahk was given a new pronounciation in BIONICLE: Encyclopedia Updated which does not match the pronunciations given for the other five Rahkshi, which originate from The Official Guide to BIONICLE.
- The entry for the Kualsi is accidentally placed after Kualus. This mistake is corrected for the second edition.
- The subsections "Equipment" and "Personality" are accidentally flipped for the Bohrok entry, a mistake that carried over to the second edition.
